Born: November 27, 1953
Education: Oakland University, Academy of Dramatic Arts
"Armstrong received his first
professional acting break starring as Puck in "A Midsummer's Night's
Dream" after graduating from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Michigan. In
the mid-1970s, he moved to New York and continued acting in various off-Broadway
productions and tours. His first breakthrough film role came shortly thereafter
when he was cast as Tom Cruise's best friend and confidant Miles Dalby in the
1983 sleeper hit, Risky Business. That experience propelled Armstrong to
Los Angeles, where he has become an accomplished film and television actor.
Armstrong has appeared in numerous successful films and television shows. His
most memorable film roles include playing Booger in the ensemble comedy feature Revenge
of the Nerds and Charles de Mar, opposite John Cusack, in Better Off
Dead. His other film roles include Shanghai Noon, Jingle All The
Way, Big Bully, How I Got Into College, Revenge of the
Nerds II, One Crazy Summer and Clan of the Cave Bear. On
television, Armstrong starred as Burt Viola on the ABC hit series Moonlighting.
His guest-starring roles include appearances on That '70s Show, Cursed,
Ally McBeal, 3rd Rock From The Sun, Felicity, Suddenly
Susan, Cybill, Ellen, Diagnosis Murder, Murphy Brown
and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Armstrong currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Elaine, and daughter,
Lily."
